Redesigning The Engine Bay

Design a product that includes a fan and incorporate design for disassembly or repair.

I approached this by integrating autobody/mechanic culture.

Identified main componants of an engine bay of a 2018 BMW X5

Considering the blower motor is located in the dashboard, mechanics have to rip apart the dashboard to locate the blower motor.

This is an inconvenient location for repair and maintenance.

How can we make it more efficient for mechanics to repair the blower motor within a vehicle’s HVAC system?

Through the interviews, I gained their insight on their experience with the blower motor.

Integrating another air intake pipe that connects directly to the HVAC system.

This endorses a faster turnover, allowing mechanics to repair the blower motor faster and have a shorter wait time for the customers.
